Something new this year.  I was asked to produce a window display for York’s new Amnesty International Bookshop, to highlight the current

campaign “Write for Rights”.  I wanted to use recycled materials and was offered old unsaleable books, which reminded me of birds’ wings.

I also had some old music manuscripts, so it had to be birds!  I wanted a Mexican look, so the colours are bright and the theme is decorative.

The campaign centres around selected prisoners of conscience, and the public are invited to write messages of support on a postcard. So I

found an old cache of stamps and have added these to the decorative elements.  Great fun….and makes me think I’ll explore more 3D projects.
